Paul Blart Woos Rosario in a Zoo

If you need to be a Kevin James type to successfully attract a Rosario Dawson type, then my priorities or irrevocably out of whack. But movie audiences will be expected to buy, since Variety reports that Dawson will play the girl in James' upcoming comedy The Zookeeper. Be warned: There's more than one Paul Blart connection to The Zookeeper, with James working again with the producers behind that film. Dawson comes aboard a couple of months before filming begins, and Happy Madison and MGM will put it in theaters next July 23rd. That release date might be a situation where they're reading too many press clippings about the success of Mall Cop. That's a pretty good slot, and the odds of Kevin James delivering another $150 million comedy are probably not overpowering. It doesn't help that the story sounds abysmal. According to the Variety synopsis, the movie "centers on zoo animals trying to teach the keeper their methods of dating and mating to help him win back the woman of his dreams." Ugh...the talking animal comedy. Has it ever been funny? The Zookeeper will also star Leslie Bibb, who I also would have no shot with, but apparently, The King of Queens is just swimmin' in babes.
