Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 7:50AM Fan Made Trailer - Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern
This is a ridiculously good use of existing video, so I applaud Jarron Pitts
for taking the time to throw together a fairly believable fake trailer for The Green
Lantern. Big Picture reader Dustin H. sent it over to us, and even though there are definitely
spots where it looks fake, you've still got to admire how well it's put together.

In this version of The Green Lantern, Hal Jordan is played by Nathan Fillion. I'd have no
problem with that if they weren't trying to go younger for the actual movie, which will begin production pretty soon. It certainly raises the question of what comic hero Fillion could play, though.
See how many movies you can spot in this trailer. I notice Star Trek, Dragonball Evolution, and I think The Fountain and You Don't Mess With the Zohan among a few others.
Yeah, I'd buy Fillion as Hal Jordan. Why on Earth isn't that guy a much bigger star?

us whedonites have been wondering the same thing for a very long time.
At least his latest tv show Castle got a second season.
please god.
Also there are several firefly shots in there. I hope it means you just didn't notice, and NOT that you haven't done yourself the pleasure of watching firefly.
i legitmately want to see a green lantern movie....
lol
before i was real "meh" on the issue, but i think he looks freaking awesome! and this isnt even real!
omg that was amazing work, I really can't believe how good that was
There is some Stardust for the shot of the comet heading to the forest. Lord of the Rings when he first picks up the ring. Heroes title for the eclipse. Not sure, but I think Jumper for some of the flying around shots. Definitely some Ironman. Is that some Hancock flying too? I didn't see that movie. :( There's some shots from Enterprise for the blue alien dude. Wanna say some of the stuff looks like Star Wars prequel stuff. Lots from Firefly and definitely a shot from Serenity. Several shots from the new Star Trek as you said. Think that's Watchmen where they blow up the Flat Iron Building in NYC. Is the "stretchy" arm stuff Fantastic Four? G.I. Joe leaping to the flying ship... And it bugs me LOTS that I don't know what the last clip w/ dialog is from!!
NIronwolf (aka Dustin H above)
Mostly Star Trek and Matrix 3... plus those previously mentioned.
OMG, this would be awesome. It's terrific work and so very well put together, almost seamless!
Nathan should be a HUGE star, ITA!!!!
Thanks, Colin! :-D
