Monday, May 4, 2009 at 7:21PM Nope, Dwayne Johnson's Not 'Captain Nemo'
Out of principle, I've decided not to report anything published in Production Weekly
anymore. In the past eight months, they've said that Paul Greengrass was directing The Trial of the Chicago
7, that the Dark Knight sequel was going into production this spring, Leonardo DiCaprio was starring in
the graphic novel adaptation Button Man, Judd Apatow was directing Ghostbusters 3, and a couple other
unsupported claims.

This weekend, Production Weekly listed Dwayne Johnson as the star of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea:
Captain Nemo, the Disney remake McG is directing. And the report is completely inaccurate. Here's McG:

"I don't know where that came from. I've never spoken to Dwayne Johnson. You can be the first to report that I have no idea where that came from. I wish him every success, but I never spoke to Dwayne about this."The end. But just in case you still believe the publication that's been wrong more than it's been right recently, here's more of McG's denial, from his recent chat with Sci-Fi Wire. "I like [Johnson]. He's great. He's a wonderful human being and an excellent screen presence, but we have not spoken about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Not a word." So let that be a lesson to me: No more Production Weekly. Oh, and McG says he's still hoping Will Smith will play his Captain Nemo.
