Soderbergh's 'Girlfriend Experience' on Amazon

Thanks to Chris Wulff for the head's up on this: The Steven Soderbergh film, The Girlfriend Experience, is already available on VOD - Video on Demand - through Amazon.com. Gizmodo reports that the film, which stars porn actress Sasha Grey as an escort going through here day-to-day travails, has officially been released for your at-home enjoyment, three weeks before it will arrive in theaters. Because of the subject matter, that's not a bad alternative for the target audience. The film hit Tribeca a couple of weeks ago, and will be released in theaters on May 22nd, If you don't want to wait, it'll only set you back $9.99 for a three-day rental. This isn't the first time Soderbergh has experimented with a VOD release prior to a theatrical opening, but it is the first time someone outside his immediate family gave a damn one way or another.
