New International 'Year One' Trailer

When I first heard about Year One, I loved the idea of a comedy set at the dawn of time done with a contemporary spin. And the casting of Jack Black and Michael Cera showed some promise. Sure, it could backfire, but I was willing to give it a go.

I saw an extended clip around the time of the Super Bowl, and it was greatly aided by Paul Rudd and David Cross, but they're not in the bulk of the movie. Now, the more I see that is just Black and Cera doing their schtick wears thin on me.

Unfortunately, the new international trailer for Year One is mostly Black and Cera. Damn. I mean, I guess it can still be redeemed, but I'm not sure I have a lot of hope for it at this point.

Year One opens June 19th, which is just a couple weeks after The Hangover, and I have a feeling this one will suffer a Hangover hangover; it's getting loads of good press and could be the runaway comedy hit of the summer. That would spell doom for Year One. Just a hunch.
