New 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' TV Spot

Trailer Addict has the first U.S. television commercial for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. There's only two more years of Potter left, with the second chaper of Deathly Hallows due in the summer of 2011. So this one really has to set up the big finish. I've got Half-Blood Prince in the silver medal position in the summer box office chase, well behind Transformers, but safely ahead of Star Trek. But this is possibly the most significant movie of the year. Remember when it was going to open in November last year? It moved, Twilight took that slot and excelled, and a number of other summer movies this year have shifted as a result of Potter entering the fray. So while it may not be the biggest hit of the year or the best film of 2009, it could have the biggest impact on the movies around it. Take a look at the new TV ad: Half-Blood Prince opens on Warner Bros.' favorite weekend on the entire calendar: July 15th. Last year, Dark Knight was there, next year it's Nolan's Inception, and the final Potter movie opens on July 14, 2011.
