A Handful of Clips from 'Moon' with Sam Rockwell
Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 1:04AM
We aren't in New York or Los Angeles, so we don't get to see Moon this week. The new sci-fi film by director Duncan Jones appears to hearken back to a time when the genre (at least in film) wasn't dominated by explosions and effects. It feels like, from what I've seen, an extended Twilight Zone episode, which couldn't be a higher compliment coming from me.

The easiest comparison is 2001, which I feel is unfairly excoriated by a new generation of critics and not entirely understood by younger moviegoers weaned on Star Wars. Yeah, it's boring. I concede the point. But you know what? Space would be boring after a while. And anyway, that's not what the movie is really about.
But back to Moon...Sam Rockwell stars as a solitary workman on the moon in the weeks before his long tour of duty comes to a close. And then the weird stuff happens. Here are four new clips from Moon, courtesy of Trailer Addict.

any ideas when we will get this here in the valley?
July 3rd.
Fantastic film this
Saw a double feature presented by Duncan Jones in London. He showed Outland first, which Moon references quite a lot. Same FX dude also.
