Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 8:28PM 'Descent' Director in the Running for 'Predators'
The upcoming reboot of Predator, which has added an 's' to the title and more
Predators to the story, may be zeroing in on a director. Robert Rodriguez wrote a script years ago on
which the new film will be based, and he's also producing. He will not, however go behind the camera.

One director close to the brass ring right now appears to be Neil Marshall from The Descent and
Doomsday, according to sources informing Bloody Disgusting. Marshall is an intriguing pick for Predators, and he
certainly has the kind of experience that might make him a good candidate.
Ain't It Cool News has talked to Robert Rodriguez and he confirms that Marshall is one option, but there
are about a half-dozen other names on his list, too, names he won't reveal.
I'd like to know what kind of time table Rodriguez is on to make his pick, but I expect almost every director in the genre who doesn't have late 2009/early 2010 plans has been in contact with the boss of Troublemaker Studios to throw their names in the hat.
Marshall's stuff is a little darker than the original Predator, but that might be exactly what it needs.

Marshall is a great choice... I could see Bryan Bertino, Marcus Nispel and oh, how about John McTiernan for other good ideas on who would work.
