Huh? Another 'Darko' Film on the Way?

I'm assuming you didn't see S. Darko. There are people who did buy it or rent it, but since the movie never came out in theaters and appeared to be a wrongheaded sequel to a beloved cult classsic, you probably avoided it whether you meant to or not. Now it appears as though Fox might want a third Darko film, and I vote for Darko Milicic. Now that's a scary story. Bloody Disgusting says the studio is already developing the threequel, although there aren't any specifics immediately available. Is there's one reason to be the least bit interested in this, it's that the rumor extends to include Richard Kelly, who wrote and directed the first movie before being swallowed whole by the confusing, disastrous Southland Tales. Kelly was not a part of the sequel - currently about a thousand slots below the decade-old Donnie Darko on the Amazon sales chart - so I wonder what form his involvement would be. This would almost certainly be a direct-to-DVD release, but that market is a lot more profitable than it was 10 years ago. Still, that seems like a rather peculiar project to dive right back into. Just imagine if Fox had been this dedicated to he first movie all those years ago.
