Great Character Posters from 'Sherlock Holmes'

A teaser poster for Sherlock Holmes debuted a couple months ago at ShoWest, and it was pretty cool. Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.) emerging from the darkness, showing just a little bit of what's in store for us this December. It served its purpose pretty well.

Now we get new character posters for Guy Ritchie's overhaul of the world's greatest detective and his right hand man, Dr. Watson (Jude Law). I think these are pretty good, too, minus how anachronistic Holmes looks (which isn't the poster's fault) and how Watson's head looks pasted on someone else's body.

I dig the color scheme of foggy old London, how worn it all looks, and the often overlooked title and credits placement. Yeah, all together, I think I like these. They're better than the trailer, anyway.

Sherlock Holmes opens on Christmas.
