Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 3:26PM A Look at James Cameron's 'Avatar' Video Game
Director James Cameron talked and talked and talked at E3 earlier this week, and while his next film was on everyone's mind, there was also news about the video game version of Avatar, which Joystiq hints might mean we're at the beginning of a long relationship between Cameron and software developer Ubisoft.

It's not correct to assumethat Cameron's involvement with the production of the game means this is fairly close to the real McCoy. The King of the World says it's an extension of the franchise rather than a standard movie tie-in, so when you get a look at the shots from the game, they may or may not reflect anything we'll see in the movie.
However, one huge thing Avatar has going for it is Cameron's claim that this is the first 3-D stereoscopic video game, something that has been on the horizon for a while.
Here are a few images from the Avatar video game, due in stores on December 1st:

Am I to think that this is why Peter Jackson halted production on Halo?
Ubisoft's entire press conference ground to a hault when James Cameron just kept talking and talking...and talking about every aspect of Avatar. He went on for like 15-20 solid minutes and never showed a single frame of anything. No video game footage. No film footage. It was sleep enducing.
