Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 12:42AM Scheduling Conflict to Keep Common Out of 'A-Team'?
It might be back to the drawing board for The A-Team. We'll presume you
already know they're making a movie based on the 1980s TV show, and that it will be directed by Joe
(Smokin' Aces) Carnahan.

Now, a couple of weeks ago, Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson were arranged for the project, starring as
Templeton "Faceman" Peck and Hannibal "Old Cigar-Chomping Guy" Smith. The Neeson casting in particular
tells us this won't be a irony-rich homage like Starsky & Hutch. Common was rumored for the part of
B.A. Baracus, but as IESB points out, he's now set to star opposite Queen Latifah in Just Wright.
The shooting schedules for the two films are awfully close together and it may not allow Common time to do
both films. It's still possible depending on when he's needed for The A-Team, but it's equally as
likely that Fox might pick someone else for the role and avoid the hassle. Tyrese Gibson leaps immediately
to mind; perhaps it's the Transformers blooming this time of year.
We're still waiting to find out who will play "Mad Dog" Murdock, too, so the studio might double up on the
announcements for those two roles, as well. If so, that news would come fairly quickly. The A-Team
will begin shooting in August and is scheduled for a June 11th release next year.
