Kick-Ass New Trailer for 'Inglourious Basterds'
Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:30AM
Quentin Tarantino's Nazi-huntin' movie, Inglourious Basterds will open in the U.S. on August 21st, supposedly in a shorter version than the Cannes world premiere. The reception for that movie was all over the road, with some critics hating it and others praising it wildly. I think the one thing most of them agreed on, however, was that it was probably too long.

The movie isn't the only thing headed back to the editing bay: The second trailer for Basterds is about four times as good as the first one, which was operating as more of a teaser. This time around, it's a full-throttle effort that shows more of Tarantino's cards. And I really dig the trailer.
OK...I'm still not fond of Pitt's accent (the only one that seems incredibly hokey), but otherwise, this is starting to look like a blast:

his accent reminds me of my great uncle sid.
i love the disclaimer at the end "this film is not yet rated"... i think we can safely presume it won't be anything less than an 'r'.
unless they throw in 3d glasses... and show it in utah. then, yeah, the kids will go see it.
I almost brought up the non-rating; it's my favorite part of the trailer.
HAHA LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!
The direction and action looks great!
I gotta disagree Colin, the accent of Brad Pitt is hokey, BUT it's so funny I love it!!!
Ever since Ive seen the trailer and the discussion at CANNES about the film, Ive been quoting Brad Pitt's lines ALL THE TIME
"The Enemies Will Fear Us"
"To do 1 thing, KILLIN NAZEESS"
HAHA very funny
"Each & Every Member of my command owes me 1 hundred scalps!"
"And I WANT MY SCALPS"
HAHAHA
"some critics hating it and others praising it wildly"
Hmmm...
sounds like every other Tarantino film since Pulp Fiction.
Great trailer for this one.
Looks like the dumbest of wish fulfillment, but I'll still watch it.
After reading the screenplay I can tell you this; the trailer features cuts from EVERY scene Pitt (and his lame ass accent) are in and makes the flick look like a Brad Pitt vehicle. The good news, (for me anyway) is that this is not HIS movie and he is strictly supporting. The movie actually belongs more to the ladies and the German actors, though I do understand why they won't be marketing it that way. I loved the script but, you should know going in, the ending plays fast and loose with historic fact. I'm looking forward to this one.
