Johnny Depp Open to Playing The Riddler

Last summer, when all systems were go for a third Batman movie - in spite of the fact that all systems actually were not even be discussed - Johnny Depp emerged as the hot choice to play The Riddler. You remember that, right? Depp would wear question marks and Angelina Jolie was stalking Christopher Nolan to make her Catwoman, except none of it was supported by any facts whatsoever?

Now MTV has asked Depp about playing the Batvillain and he seems open to the possibility. Of course, Depp's pricetag makes him consider just about any serious offer, I'm guessing. "It seems that it would be alright. I always liked the Riddler," said Depp. "I always liked Frank Gorshin (who famously played the role on TV 40 years ago). Frank Gorshin was brilliant, I always thought he was a great actor."

"If the opportunity came, I would definitely juggle it," Depp confirmed.

Now, does he mean he'd throw it around for a while and see what he felt about it or does he mean he'd juggle it alongside everything else in his schedule? Tough one to figure, that Depp.

He said separately that he wasn't sure about returning to Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, which has as much to do with his limited availability thanks to The Lone Ranger and Pirates 4 as anything else, but with a Batman movie at least another year-and-a-half away from getting started, he might be able to fit The Riddler in.

Of course, there's no guarantee Christopher Nolan will do a third movie at this point, and there's certainly no guarantee that The Riddler would even be in the movie, but those are just details, right?

Confirmed at the Get The Big Picture, Johnny Depp to star in Batman 3 as the Riddler.

Why couldn't Depp been the Ridler when Tim Burton was making these, there is a movie worth watching.

Because Tim Burton only directed "Batman" and "Batman Returns".

I have a feeling that Leo is going to be the next Batvillain after their relationship working together on Inception. Depp would obviously be amazing as he is in everything he does but I'm just throwing this out there that Leo will be whatever villain they choose to run with (and marion cottiard will be catwoman if she appears)

If they go with any option to have the ridler in the next sequal then Johnny Depp will be him. The "masses" will not accept anyone else at this point and the studios know that...bottom line producers and studio execs make the final decisions on cast regaurdless of what Nolan or anyone else says....Once a script is accepted and a plot is in motion they will handle the rest...Of course Nolan will have a word to put in and he will be taken seriously but honestly if Johnny Depp is available they will take him in a heartbeat...But story line is essential here...I want to see a darker riddler to match Heath's joker...surpassing is out of the question, but the riddler must be dark saddistic and in differentiating with the joker's chaotic mastermind, the riddler must be smooth calculating and virtually the most terrifying character to step into the batman world with the joker at his side...what about the rumors of harley being in the new one?...And I've already seen a leak of depps costume as the riddler on youtube....looked too real to be fake....who knows...Hollywood has been known to drop the ball...perhaps mostly on perpose...so we shall all see....I have a few idea for a script if the exzecs care to hear...but in reality....They don't so I shall keep them to myself...perhaps I will write a fanfic....Who knows....
