Daniel Craig Ain't Afraid of No Ghost

Which is stranger to you: James Bond in a haunted house movie or Jim Sheridan directing it? I'd go for the latter, since Daniel Craig has taken a few unfortunate steps since becoming the new 007 back in 2005. Of course, Jim Sheridan did direct the 50 Cent movie, so maybe that's a push.

The director and star are not officially signed on yet, but The Hollywood Reporter says they're both in negotiations for Dream House, a psychological thriller in which "Craig would play a man who moves his family to an idyllic small town, only to find his house haunted by its former inhabitants, who were murdered there."

Under normal circumstances, I'd love to see Craig and Sheridan work together, although he's the wrong kind of director to make a Bond picture. I'm not real high on the current state of ghost movies, though, but if the script (by David Loucka) has the attention of both actor and director, maybe there's more to it than meets the eye.

Craig currently has no other projects set up other than his next mission as James Bond, so he needs to fill that time with something.

Plot sounds alot like 13B (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1385824/)

I spent last evening watching Peckinpah's The Getaway and it struck me how similar in looks and acting style Steve McQueen and Daniel Craig are.

Craig certainly should be doing more with that.

I also wondered why they don't make abrasive and artistic movies like that anymore.
