Ryan Reynolds Gets 'Buried' in New Thriller
Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7:30AM
We know Ryan Reynolds will pick up the swords again as Deadpool, although when that movie really gets off the ground is hard to say. In the meantime, he's cashing in on his second straight number one movie at the box office, signing a deal to star in the indie flick Buried just days after The Proposal was released.

Collider says he'll play "a civilian contractor who’s kidnapped in Iraq and awakens buried in a coffin in the desert, armed only with a cell phone, a candle and a knife." Not that it needs Iraq, but it does add to the danger of everything, doesn't it?
As you might suspect, that's not a musical comedy. Director Rodrigo Cortés is making this a thriller, oddly enough, and it will shoot next month in Spain.
The thing I'm happy about is that Reynolds might finally get to do leading roles people see instead of supporting the Sandra Bullocks of the world. He's better than romantic comedies, and frankly, he's better than a Marvel Comics spin-off. I think he's the real deal, and I can't for the life of me figure out why he hasn't been a bigger star yet.

I can't figure it out either. The man's got everything going for him.
I've been a fan for a while and would like to see good things happen for him
I am not willing to go so far as to say I'd go gay for Ryan Reynolds, but I would certainly not rule out the possibility.
