In movie terms, almost nobody saw Lymelife. The small film with a cast featuring Alec Baldwin, two Culkins, and Timothy Hutton made less than half a million bucks in its U.S. release. That's about 50,000 people. I'm not picking on the movie, though. In fact, I think it's a shame because the real eye-opener in Lymelife was the performance of Emma Roberts, daughter of Eric, neice of Julia. She's legit.

So when you see that Emma has joined the cast of the mostest romantic comedy ever devised, it probably has something to do with her ability...even though her famous aunt is in the cast as well. The younger Roberts has signed up for the film, along with Topher Grace and Hector Elizondo, who will share the screen with (deep breath) Julia, Anne Hathaway, both Jessicas, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, and Jennifer Garner.
Valentine's Day is one of those intertwining stories situations a la Love, Actually and the recent hit He's Just Not That Into You. Garry Marshall will direct it and it's coming out on Valentine's Day, because sometimes formula is just that predictable.
I hope not everyone in the movie is involved in a relationship, though, even if it would be cool if Biel and Alba were an item. Also, what would you do with 18-year-old Emma Roberts? Well, supposing her boyfriend has not been cast yet (because even Topher Grace is 30), I guess it's acceptable within a movie like this that she's trying to lose her virginity, which The Hollywood Reporter says is the crux of her storyline. Still, kind of odd for a teenager to pursue that kind of subject with her aunt in the same movie, don't you think?
For their parts, Topher is lovin' up on Hathaway, which must mean his character is about to go to federal prison, and Hector Elizondo, who is oh so reliable, will play Shirley MacLaine's husband.
On another note, someone needs to stop letting Garry Marshall direct movies. Honestly, when the second best movie of the 16 you've directed is Beaches and the bronze medalist is probably Runaway Bride, you've tortured us enough.

My daughter is 16 and we have been a big fan of Emma's ever since her show "Unfabulous" came out on Nickelodeon. She has great comedic timing and the smarts to be the endearing everygirl. Looking forward to seeing her in this!
Amen to that last paragraph!
