Anna Paquin Would Love Rogue in 'X-Men: First Class'

Anna Paquin is speaking hypothetically and emphatically about returning as Rogue in future X-Men movies, in particular in the proposed X-Men: First Class.

The movie would be loosely based on the idea behind a series of comics that was originally launched in 2006 and has run in a few variations ever since. Paquin, of course, was Rogue in the original X-Men movie trilogy, but she's not in the First Class comics. Those original characters are Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Iceman, Professor X, and Jean Grey. But the movie is supposed to focus on Iceman, Angel, Rogue, Jubilee, Colossus and Shadowcat, perhaps to spin-off even more characters for future use.
Would Paquin do it? "Absolutely. Yeah," she told IGN. "I would hope I could do a little bit more action next time, though. I kind of find it ironic that I did three big action films and did, actually, no action whatsoever."
Added Paquin, "You know, as much as I loved doing those films I was kind of like, 'OK, so when do I get to beat someone up? When do I get to steal some powers?' You know Sookie [Paquin's True Blood character] gets to do more action than Rogue ever did."
"So I'm just putting that out there. More action please, for next time."
Sounds like she's really open to returning to the franchise, although things might change depending on how the movie develops over the next several months. There's still a 2010 release date for First Class, but that ain't happening. I wonder if the Wolverine track will be on the front burner for a few films until Fox sees how it plays out before releasing even more X-Men stuff.
