Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 8:11PM Eminem Admits MTV Movie Awards Stunt was Fake
Not only was the Bruno/Eminem stunt at the MTV Movie Awards not terribly funny, it also was obviously staged. There's no way a company as big as Viacom would let somebody careen down on an unsuspecting superstar with a high-priced legal team at the ready. Too many possible insurance hassles.

And now, to set the record straight, Marshall Mathers confirms it was a gag. "Sacha [Baron Cohen] called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards," he told Rap Radar. "I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved."

"I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it," Eminem continued. "It had so many people going nuts so to speak. Everyone was blowing up at me. After the ceremony I went back to me hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours. Especially after I saw it on air."Eminem laughs? It's a brave new world. So yeah, there you go - phony.
