Harrison Ford is: 'Han Solo, P.I.'
Friday, June 5, 2009 at 2:03AM
Big Picture reader Brad West hipped me to this video mashing up old Star Wars footage of
Harrison Ford with the theme song from Magnum, P.I.. The result, of course, is Han Solo, P.I..

While I was watching it, I grew nostalgic for a great many things. I miss the days when Harrison Ford movies were worth paying to see. I miss Magnum, P.I., and I really miss the golden age of the TV theme song. Mike Post was the man.
This video takes on a little subtext, too, since Tom Selleck was the original choice for Indiana Jones.

That's great! Thanks for posting, Colin.
Am so with ya, I miss the great TV theme song (though I hafta admit, I love the current style of using a real song, The Unit's "Fire" and House's "Teardrop" are incredible, as is Bones' Crystal Method tune) and I REALLY miss Harrison Ford in an animated role that requires him to do more than look worried/determined/pissed.
Tom Selleck and Pierce Brosnan were victims of contracts. While the 007 franchise suffered without Pierce at that early juncture, and as much as I adore Tom in anything, Harrison Ford was a perfect Han Solo and I'm kinda glad Tom couldn't get out of his contract.
