Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 6:32PM Damn It - John Stamos Wants a 'Full House' Movie
Um...no? Can I vote no? New York Daily News reports that John Stamos wants to
develop a movie based on Full House, a film that would most likely justify an alien civilization to
destroying our planet.

“I’m working on a movie idea, but it wouldn’t be us playing us,” Uncle Jesse said. “I’m not 100% sure, but
it would probably take place in the first few years [covered in the series]." So if it wouldn't be Stamos,
Coulier, Saget, and the girls, who would it be?
His dream lineup features James Franco as Jesse, Steve Carell as Danny Tanner, and Tracy Morgan and Joey
Gladstone, "because he’s funny.” We're not at the point where this thing is close to being made, so the
casting Stamos has in mind probably (hopefully) won't happen. But I wonder which stars it will attract,
should it get to that point? Surely someone we find respectable will sign up, so long as it looks like a
decent paycheck.
Stamos also said no reunion is in the cards, despite his reassurance that he's on good terms with everyone
from the cast.
With the lack of success of Land of the Lost (along with several other TV adaptations in the past
five years), I'm unsure how often studios will go after these projects, at least in the short term. The
Dallas movie has already cost a bunch of money and it probably won't get made. Bewitched
dropped like a stone. The Honeymooners and Miami Vice certainly didn't light it up.
But it stands to reason that if it's shopped around, some producers and distributors will bite. It's easier than making a similar movie without the name Full House attached.
