Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:06PM Jigsaw Talks 'Saw VI'...and Beyond
So here we are about five months the sixth Saw movie, and Tobin Bell is already looking ahead...to the eighth movie, and maybe even the ninth one. Bloody Disgusting caught up with Bell at E3, where he was promoting the upcoming Saw video game, and the actor confirmed where the franchise appears to be headed.

Asked if he had heard the rumors about Saw VIII being the end of the line, Bell responded, "Yes, I have. Final is a relative word. Especially in entertainment." The good thing about the Saw series is that because of their open endings, every movie could technically be the last one, depending on whether or not they continue to make money.
The money, however, will keep on coming. These movies combined cost less than the least profitable film in the series has made. So three or four or more, whatever they decide, is still just playing with house money at this point.
Bell says there are "pieces of the puzzle" people still haven't seen, and the filmmakers more than likely have that plotted out over the next three or four films. But that doesn't mean it couldn't end without going the distance, either. "In their wisdom," Bell says, "these producers always wait to see how the current film does. Six is finished and we’re just in the middle of talking about [seven]."
Saw V was dreadful, easily the worst in the series. But three of the others are pretty good horror flicks. So there's room to make a solid sixth movie, and if that works, then go for broke for the last two or three installments.
Having said all that, I do think the video game might be the best news of all in this scenario.

How can this be true? Kevin Greutert stated that the talks about Saw VII was just rumors from not credible sources not long ago.
I hope to hell this isn't true. I was soooo looking forward to the end of this shitfest franchise this year.
