Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper Join 'The A-Team'

According to two different reports, The A-Team has assembled half of its principal cast. Variety dropped the biggest bomb, reporting that Liam Neeson will play Hannibal Smith. That's an interesting pick, you have to admit.

Elsewhere, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed what had been suspected a few weeks ago, that Bradley Cooper from The Hangover will play Templeton Peck aka Faceman. That leaves only two roles to cast, and director Joe Carnahan appears to have his eye on Common to play B.A. Baracus.
The A-Team will film this August, so time is definitely of the essence. Even more pressing is the film's already-booked release date of next June. Caranahan is looking to make a more serious film, although hiring Skip Woods to write the screenplay on the strength of Wolverine and G.I. Joe doesn't exactly put a song in my heart.
The casting of Neeson makes a tremendous amount of sense for Fox, which enjoyed great success with Taken. He gives the film an instant credibility while Cooper will have a few mainstream successes to hang his hat on by the time this is released.

Great news! Liam Neeson is always reliable, and I didn't have a clue who Bradley Cooper was till I saw The Hangover. Now if Common joins and some real funny guy joins for Murdock, then this will be a must see next summer.
