Friday, July 10, 2009 at 10:41AM Megan Fox's Latest 'Jennifer's Body' Poster
Something happened when I saw Brüno last night that almost never
happens. During a trailer for Jennifer's Body, there was a gasp of I don't know...almost
reverence for Megan Fox. She appeared on screen and after an audible deep breath by about 300
people, you heard her name mumbled throughout the theater.

Now, the fanboy contingent has already seen the Red Band trailer, so they got their excitement out
of the way earlier this week. But it's a different beast to hear a divergent audience have a shared
and rather unpredictable experience like that.
A new poster has arrived for Jennifer's Body - written by Diablo Cody, co-starring Amanda
Seyfried - and I guess it replaces the one the graphic designers flat out stole from True
Blood. It's OK. Looks like a scene from the old Britny Fox video for "Girlschool," but that's
probably the intention.

Your main point of comparison is Britny Fox? How old are you Colin?
True film critics are mostly vampires... always in the dark, pale complexion and ageless. I hear Colin gets around in a little deuce coupe.
Oh, I remember the Britney Fox video, man, you must be as old as me living thru the metal years. This movie looks like a fun movie.
" Something happened when I saw Brüno last night that almost never happens"
Same thing here Colin, except the midnight crowd that I enjoyed the movie with last night did something even more unseen after the trailer.
They booed. Loudly. This was the same crowd that laughed uproariously at the "Old Dogs" trailer (the John Travolta/Robin Williams Disney movie). That was surprising, but I always knew that "Jennifer's Body",even though it's a film with Megan Fox in the main role as a seductress/villain would've been a tough sell.
I know you can't judge a film by it's trailer (or it's reaction), but the audience really hated it. That's something that should be taken into account.
Yeah, they laughed at the Old Dogs trailer where I saw it, too. That is interesting about Jennifer's Body, though. I haven't heard loud booing in a trailer since Joel Schumacher's name showed up at the end of the Phantom of the Opera teaser.
