First Commercials for 'The Final Destination'

Even as a pretty big fan of the second Final Destination, I'm finding it hard to say too many positive things about the fourth movie in the series, simply called The Final Destination. The best that I can muster is that some of the famed kill shots in the franchise up to this point would have been even cooler in 3-D, so maybe this will succeed on that basis.

There was a strange life-imitates-art moment last month when a woman who was supposed to be a passenger on the Air France flight that crashed into the ocean leaving over 200 dead was later killed in a car crash, and I suppose things like that happen often enough that the original (and so far, only) concept for the Final Destination series was germinated.

The first TV commercials have popped up online, and they're pretty reminiscent of the trailers we've seen to this point. Again, I think some 3-D might help, but only so much.

The Final Destination takes flight on August 28th.
