Trailer for Drew Barrymore's 'Whip It'

When last we checked in with Whip It, the directorial debut of one Drew Barrymore, we had plenty of pictures for you. Now, the pictures move.

Barrymore's film is in no way about Devo (although, wouldn't it be cool if Mark Mothersbaugh did the music?) but rather the reenergized femmetastic sport of roller derby. Ostensibly an Ellen Page vehicle, the movie co-stars Drew, Kristen Wiig, Eve, Juliette Lewis, and Marcia Gay Harden. And love the character names: Smashley Simpson, Dinah Might, Eva Destruction, Bloody Holly. Good times.

Here's the trailer, and it's as full of life as you'd expect something from Drew Barrymore to be:

Whip It, which I should mention is based on the Shauna Cross novel, will open on October 9th.
