Congratulations to comic book author and film director Brian Pulido, whose new horror movie, The Graves, has been added to the After Dark Horrorfest, which will hit theaters next January. As it has been in previously years, the Horrorfest will feature eight movies that run one week at a time.

The Graves is the first film added to the schedule, which runs January 29th to February 5th, with a new movie every night. Pulido is the author of the Lady Death and War Angel comics, and he's been a music video director for a few years. This is his first feature film as a director.
“Brian’s background and knowledge of the horror world has served him incredibly well. He has directed a film that audiences are going to find both scary and immensely entertaining, said After Dark CEO Courtney Solomon. "The Graves is simply great edgy fun and we’re excited to have it as part of our line up.”
I've seen a little bit of this film, as it turns out. I was interviewing Brian and Deal Ronalds, two of the producers of The Graves, about their own film, Netherbeast, Inc. last fall, and they were going through scenes of this movie in their office. So, based on what I've seen - which isn't very much - I think you'll have a good time with it. The movie stars Bill Moseley and Tony Todd, and Clare Grant and Jillian Murray as the Graves sisters.
Here's the first trailer for The Graves, which in a stroke of good timing, was also released today. It is not unbloody:
We'll keep you posted on the Horrorfest; there are usually some good genre finds to be had.

Given his connections here, it's also entirely possible that we Arizonans may get a chance to see this ex-festival director's film a few months earlier. I'm happy for him and I hope it's good.
