Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 12:03AM First Freddy Poster for 'Nightmare on Elm Street'
Yesterday, we got our first look at Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street reboot/remake. It actually looks like Platinum Dunes has figured out this horror movie version 2.0 business, what with the pretty good opening weekend success of Friday the 13th. But this could be the big one for them.
And the timing of releasing that picture and this brand new poster - which also doesn't show us Krueger's mangled face - is certainly no coincidence. Welcome to Comic Con Week. There's a big enough population of horror fans and fanboys in general attending or paying close attention to Comic Con that this Nightmare of Elm Street collection could be one of the things that stands out the most this weekend.
Now, about that face. I suppose this is the perfect way to do it. We know he'll look similar to the Freddy of old, and the sweater and fedora are back. But I expect the facial burns to be much more disfiguring. Check it out:

I'll be honest with the amount of buzz this movie is gonna get they don't even need to show his face till the movie opens (provided it actually is good makeup and stuff) I'm getting tired of having everything revealed to em before the movie even opens. I wanna be surprised in a movie, but everything gets revealed anyway before the movie even opens.
