Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 2:33AM Frank Miller Finishes Graphic Novel for '300' Sequel
From Camp Believe It When You See It comes news that Frank Miller has finished a
graphic novel being eyed as a sequel to 300. The Hollywood Reporter says that Warner Bros.
and the potential producers will now take a close look at Miller's work to see if and how a movie can be
made from it.

The easiest answer seems to be to hire Zack Snyder again, and since he's likely going to be a producer, that seems like an easy converation for him to have. One question might be who will write the film. The rumor is that 300 co-writer Kurt Johnstad is the odds-on favorite, but he's busy with other projects at the moment.
The pitch apparently is that this is a sequel, which means no Gerard Butler. But does that matter? I mean, he was great as Leonidis, but aren't you really gambling that the majority of the 300 audience comes back? I think that brand recognition is much more important, and since the first one was a big hit with no star power, there's a good chance that a sequel operating under similar rules (but with a big fan base) would have the opportunity to be nearly as successful.
Miller has sure dragged his feet on this story, just like that Sin City sequel we should've seen two years ago, and if there's a dark cloud hanging over the project, it's that by the time the movie would be released - no sooner than 2011 in that same spring ballpark where 300 was successful two years ago, in my opinion - that it might be too late to cash in on the sword and sandal genre. Don't forget, we're months away from Clash of the Titans and Conan might happen before this one gets released, too.
That's probably a minor obstacle, but one to keep in mind.

Who cares? 300 was an overblown piece of racist trash that pretended, gods of Olympus know how, that the Spartans were a great democratic, noble people. There were scum bags who viciously terrorized their peasant population and had no qualms of killing their own children.
Why are people so gullible to fall for the glorification of these monstrous thugs?
Oh, yeah, it's mildly homoerotic. So, all the guys can get off on the flesh of dudes without worrying about anyone thinking their gay.
As for Frank Miller, please, please, please make sure the guy never gets to co-direct/direct a movie again. Poor Gabriel Macht!
you must be persian.... and gay... and a moron who doesn't know about western culture and history... why don't you go eat some hummus and beat your wife.
how the f was 300 racist? i'm just going to throw diplomacy out the window and say that if you were standing in front of me i would unleash a major beatdown. yeah i'm greek and mf you pissed me off. you have very little knowledge of our history and therefore you need to shut the f up before you're dealt with in the same manner as the persians, turks, nazis and all the others who f'd with greece. think of how many attempts at global domination the greeks have stopped by not laying down like so many have. i respect all cultures and their history including the persians own. you come off as racist, homophobic and angry. are you by any chance iranian? nothing wrong with that but get over it. the war ended centuries ago.

Being an avid history buff of all cultures and peoples (and yeah I am Greek) I can say that yes, YOU ARE A IDIOT! lol Based on your comments you know nothing of any Greek peoples. Your comments are ignorant and with out merit. And now here is a comment of my own.....It's stupid jerkoffs like you who pollute the human society with miss information.
