Listen To New 'TRON Legacy' Music From Daft Punk

So one of the more exciting prospects about the new TRON, officially rechristened as TRON Legacy with that stunning new trailer that debuted at Comic Con, is what we learned several months ago - Daft Punk is providing the score. No offense to the Hans Zimmers of the world, but this movie just doesn't feel like it needs an orchestra. What it does need, though, is exactly the kind of mojo the French duo can bring to the film, so bravo to Disney and the producers for looking beyond the way things are normally done with $200 million movies. Now we have our first example of what's in store for us. By way of Latino Review, here's some music from TRON Legacy, as composed and performed by Daft Punk. There's some debate as to where it fits into the score, so just take it out of context for now. Perk up your ears...

There is almost certainly a change in the release date for TRON Legacy. It had been billed as November 2011, but at Comic Con, the trailer said 2010. I'm not saying this will open on December 3, 2010, but I am saying nothing else has called dibs on that weekend yet. So we'll see. The 24th is also an option, but not a realistic one. It's either got to be a mid-to-late November (like, say, November 12) or an early December release at this point if Disney wants it as an end-of-the-year spectacle but insists on moving it up a year.

OK...we've heard from a couple readers and there are comments on this thread that the song is not a remix by or a performance by Daft Punk. Instead, it's some kind of cover version by Cryda Luv. It's the same song, but not the Daft Punk version. So, sorry about the misleading info. But it's still a good tune.

Actually, "sorry", but it's originally by Daft Punk and REWORKED by Cryda Luv - this is a REMIX by Cryda Luv of the DAFT PUNK track for TR2N aka TRON 2 aka TRON: LEGACY.

yes, Whitewolf, the theme was apparently composed by Daft Punk (as heard in Flynn's Arcade at the Comic Con), but this is not a remix. No indication that Cryda Luv had access to any original tracks. It seems to be a recreation (or a "cover") after Cryda Luv heard the track playing in the arcade (probably after watching the same YouTube video everyone has watched of the full-size light cycle reveal).

This story indicates that this track is performed by Daft Punk. That does not seem to be the case.

If you have any other information indicating this to be a real remix based on the real DP source, I'd love to hear about it.
