Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 4:36AM Nope, 'Batman 3' Is Not Happening Next Year
I hate to see I told you so, but...Gary Oldman has already reversed field on his Comic Con proclamation that a third Batman movie would film next year. Somehow lost in all the hoopla of Oldman announcing that in San Diego was his statement the next day: "Well, I'm sure they want to do another one...it might be two or three years."

The reason, we reasoned, was that Christopher Nolan was working on Inception, a $200 million sci-fi movie due out next July. So nothing at all could happen until several months after that, because Nolan probably wouldn't want to work back-to-back.
Enter David Goyer, the third member of the current Batman creative team, along with the two Nolan brothers. "Right now, Chris is involved in filming Inception," Goyer told MTV, for what seems like the umpteenth time. "When he finishes that, he will turn his studious gaze back to the Bat universe and we'll see."
Goyer had mentioned earlier that he and Nolan have had discussions about the third Batman flick, but nothing was set in stone. And that's where I imagine we still are - a few possible storylines and villain options that the Nolans and Goyer can chew on for a while.
But it's not happening next year, and contrary to the other bullshit rumors about the most rumored movie ever, I'll bet you a dozen of anything that Miley Cyrus won't play Batgirl.
