New 'District 9' Video Gives Us Some Answers

One of the winners of Comic Con was District 9, which is a smaller summer film, but one that I think has positioned itself well and advertised that position with increasing effectiveness. If you've just watched the trailers and TV spots you probably don't have a full idea of what the movie is really all about. You know there are aliens on Earth and then there's a big conflict, which you could kind of expect. But everything we've seen has been really cool, so the lack of a ton of plot points hasn't been a big deal. But there's a new featurette/first look/promotional video for District 9 that finally gets us from point A to point B in the story, and it shows us footage we've never seen, and it features producer Peter Jackson, director Neill Blomkamp, and some of the cast explaining what District 9 is and what District 9 is all about. That's a lot to pack into two-and-a-half minutes.
Video courtesy of Trailer Addict District 9 comes out on August 14th, and it could be a surprise hit. Although at this point, it might not be much of a surprise any longer.
