Friday, July 31, 2009 at 6:19PM Original Cast Sign Deals for the Return of 'Futurama'
Fox and the original voice cast for Futurama have put aside their differences and agreed to a new contract ensuring the familiar voices would return for the series' new run beginning next year on Comedy Central.

In the middle of July, it appeared as though Fox, which has been down this road before with its animated products, would be more than happy to hire a new cast to save money. It could be argued that since there hadn't been new episodes of Futurama in over five years that it could take on a "new" vibe with a fresh ensemble, as much as that might piss off the purists.
But the deal has been done for three of the five actors, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, and Tress MacNeille. Billy West and John DiMaggio are expected to sign soon, says Variety, so the 26 new episodes will move on rather seamlessly, minus a smaller writing staff.
So how much will they make? Less than the $75,000 an episode they wanted, but more than Fox was at first willing to offer.

Of course you have to have the original cast back. No way has there been enough time lapse for new voices. And i am an avid supporter of if your not going to do it the way it was make something new. Don't ressurect something if your not going to do it right. I know in hollywood its all about recycling but you can't remake it without bender fry leela the professor AND DR ZOIDBERG (the best sea water creature ever who would massacre spongebob in a fight of claw plock) I wished Zoidberg was more involved in the movies and i hot to see him more and possibly even see him and bender team up for something. could be fun. This is great news loved futurama and glad its coming back
