Scarlett Johansson to Play Marilyn Monroe?

Remember the HBO movie Norma Jean and Marilyn, which starred Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino as two sides of Marilyn Monroe? It wasn't very good, so don't worry if you missed it. A new film featuring Monroe at the height of her fame mays soon hit theaters, and it may star Scarlett Johansson. Worst Previews reports that she's the choice of filmmakers engineering My Week, based on the diary of Colin Clark, who in 1957, toured Monroe throughout London while his boss, Laurence Olivier, was making The Prince and the Showgirl with Monroe. Director Simon Curtis is said to be looking at several actresses, including Kate Hudson, Amy Adams, and Michelle Williams. While Johansson might seem like the most logical choice, I'd really like to see Michelle Williams in the role. I fear I'd be overruled, however. Clark apparently published his diaries back in 1958, but kept one week out of publication. That week, which is the launching pad for this film, wasn't released until his death in 2002. If it's Johansson who lands the role of Marilyn - and there's no word on whether or not she's even interested - she could use a good starring role to prove she's not a fluke. Match Point was the last time she was any good, and that was four years ago. I don't like her chances playing a Russian in Iron Man 2, although she'll look great in the jumpsuit.

I agree...I would love to see Michelle Williams in the role. I think she is a great actress and we will start to see that more and more after Shutter Island.

Yeah Michelle Williams would do great but AMY ADAMS awww that would be remarkable b/c of her acting ability could handle such a tough role and great for her uprising career which is much better than Scarlett's....

I feel like this would be a groundbreaking role for any of these actresses I mean playing an ICONIC BLONDE BOMBSHELL like Monroe who was indeed a very complex person would be very very tough....

Scarlett has that natural sex appeal that i don't believe the others do. And no offense but i don't find Michelle williams very pretty or that good of an actress. I used to watch her on Dawson's Creek and saw her in a few movies but Michelle Williams doesn't really do it for me. Sorry. And Amy Adams I understand her fanbase in certain circles but she isn't one of the actresses i get excited for. I always considered her more for female fans i or something. But I am a fan of Amy Adams and I do look forward to seeing her in the new Julia Childs movie

Scarlett is the obvious choice... she can act, I've seen it, just not lately. Plus the other actors don't have the voluptuous body that Monroe was famous for, although Adams and Williams are great actors (I don't know why Hudson is even in the conversation).

Who says she can't act?! The Girl WIth The Pearl Earring????...Hello! The Horse Whisperer? Even if you didn't like "The Other Bolyn Girl", it was Scarlett who carried the movie! I would love to see her in this role!
