New 'Alice in Wonderland' Scans from 'Vanity Fair'

The August issue of Vanity Fair has all the latest info on parties in the Hamptons, plus a real close-up look at Mia Wasikowska from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

There are two other pictures in the issue, scanned in by the Disney-devoted blog, Planeta Disney. We have seen the new images of Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, although we hadn't seen them holding animals, until now.

This could be a great version of the story, based on what we know. It's ideal material for Tim Burton, he's got a great cast, and the 3-D promises to be a terrific tool for the filmmaker. So here's hopin'. I mean, the best version of Alice in Wonderland in my lifetime is the video for Tom Petty's Don't Come Around Here No More, so we're due.
