Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 3:12PM Trailer - Patton Oswalt is a 'Big Fan'
Comedian Patton Oswalt has already turned a lot of
heads with his performance in Big Fan, which was probably not the
movie and performance a lot of people expected when this debuted at Sundance this year. Oswalt is going to
the dark side, playing a lifelong New York Giants fanatic whose meeting with the team's star player turns
both of their lives around.

Big Fan is the directorial debut of Robert Siegel, somehow overlooked
for Oscar consideration for his script for The Wrestler. Like that film, Big Fan brings a
flashlight and microscope to a seldom depicted part of sports, and based on the reviews, does so
unflinchingly and powerfully.
The film opens in New York on August 28th, and then First Independent Pictures will extend its run into
September.

Wow, this trailer wasn't what I was expecting given that it's Patton Oswalt. There's very few trailers that put a film definitively in the "see it" category, this one does so rather well. It leaves you thinking what in the hell is Oswalt's character going to do and where the imagination can run from there just makes the film that much more interesting.
