Watch the First Eight Minutes of 'The Hurt Locker'
Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:40PM
It has already premiered in New York and Los Angeles, but director Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker will arrive in 17
cities this weekend with more to come, hopefully.

Since taking home a bunch of hardware at last year's Venice Film Festival, the movie has been on a
bigger radar. Festivals can be a drag, especially when they're loaded down with popcorn
movies as special events, but for a movie like The Hurt Locker, that kind of
recognition can set the table for the entire theatrical release of the movie.
Here's the first eight minutes of the film, which does not feature the breakout star of
The Hurt Locker, Jeremy Renner. I don't think it
needs any explanation, but it's a white knuckle ride.
Now imagine that for that two hours. Damn.
