Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 4:18AM 'Saw VII' Coming At You in 3-D
Do you find it strange that Saw VII is getting more press than Saw VI? I mean, the sixth movie will be in theaters in about three months, but the big talk lately has been about the movie after that, with the hiring of writers a few weeks ago and the constant talk about where and when the series will come to an end.

And now there's another update: Saw VII might be in 3-D. Not a bad move, since My Bloody Valentine did a great job embracing the camp elements of horror and old fashion, comin' at you 3-D kill shots and because the Saw franchise is pretty tired at this point.
Shock Till You Drop, which first hinted at a 3-D Saw movie back in January, reports that the production team at Twisted Pictures announced the returns of writers Dunstan and Melton (The Collector) and director David Hackl so the creative element would have as much time as possible to hammer out a 3-D sequel.
If there is a horror franchise that could benefit from the extra dimension, it's Saw, which always attempts new and different ways to shock its audience, and beheadings jumping out of the screen would certainly accomplish that. The 3-D sequel isn't a definite just yet, but they're clearly exploring the possibility.

Yeah well the series has been running on fumes for the past 3 entries, so I'm really not surprised that the production team is considering this as a way to freshen up the franchise.
Well, I'd just suggest that they stop dicking around and making more "Saw" movies, but I guess this would help grosses for the 6th sequel as well. We all know this is a shallow gimmick, but as long as we don't embrace it by going to the theater, then maybe they actually will take a hint and stop this franchise.
