Monday, August 10, 2009 at 3:44PM Nolan's 'Inception' Trailer Attached to 'Basterds'
Christopher Nolan is picking up the pace. A new report at JoBlo indicates
that the Dark Knight director will have a trailer for his sci-fi movie, Inception,
ready to go in two weeks, in front of opening weekend screenings of Inglourious Basterds.

That's a hellacious pace Nolan is keeping in order to bring us a trailer; the film didn't even go
into production until early July. I expect very little in terms of scene construction or even a
great deal of the film's many, many characters. More than likely, it's a very basic teaser with
maybe one scene or two scenes thrown in for flavor.
However, the timing is also interesting: Why not Comic Con? Why not Scorsese's Shutter
Island, a film featuring the same star? That's only six weeks after
Basterds. Don't get me wrong - I'm happy to see anything from Inception - but I
wonder how much we'll see and why we have to see it in August rather than in the fall. Maybe it's just because there's nothing else to command as much attention at the end of this month rather than at Comic Con.
The movie is a big mystery, which is great. The logline reveals almost nothing ("a contemporary
sci-fi actioner set within in the architecture of the mind"), and beyond the budget and the cast,
we have no solid information. Inception is reportedly one of those $200 million projects,
which is an astonishing amount of money until you realize G.I. Joe spent $170 million on a
bunch of average CGI and accelerator suits.
The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphy, and Michael Caine. If nothing else, Nolan has pulled off the rare feat of including actors who all pick up the level of the films they're in.
You can catch Inception next summer, in the Dark Knight weekend slot of July 16th. And the trailer, or some trailer, will be in theaters in about two weeks.

I'm wondering if this will be like the first Dark Knight trailer which didn't have any video in it, just dialogue on top of the Batman logo.
Im quite dumbfounded to be honest
I mean didnt it just start in July right ...?
Wow Chris Nolan is just an amazment wonderful guy... I bet he's just the coolest guy to work with or hang out with.. I just seem to get that impression..
Great cast...beside the big nammers and headliners...Im personally looking forward to the young Joe Gordon Levitt acting with such heavyweight in the film and to see how he stacks up..
Im also very very excited to see Cillian Murphy...He was Scarecrow so Chris Nolan worked with him before and saw something so hopefully he will get a much bigger role with some depth to it...Great underrated very very low key actor who I know could see some hardware someday....
