Jackman Confirms 'Wolverine' Sequel Set in Japan
Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 2:21AM
Even though X-Men Origins: Wolverine was pretty boring and loaded with too
many characters, there is still hope for the character. Logan is one of Marvel's very best, and Hugh
Jackman has done a solid job throughout, sometimes making a very good Wolverine. And the reason there's
hope: Japan.

Frank Miller kind of reinvigorated the character in the 1980s, having Wolverine battle ninjas and stuff,
and that's exactly what Jackman wants to do next. He reinforced that sentiment this weekend at the
Twilight Teen Choice Awards. When picking up some action guy award - shaped like a surfboard -
Jackman told the crowd, "Who knows? Maybe Wolverine will use one of these when he heads to Japan. See you
next time around!"
After the show, Jackman admitted he's not playing around. "Japan is where we're heading, [and] we're
starting to work on it now," he said to MTV. "We're in ... the first steps of developing that story."
See? Good news. Hopefully, they'll push the PG-13 as much as they can and keep as much of the Frank Miller/Dave Cockrum vision as they can.
