Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 2:02AM Five-Minute Trailer for Paul Bettany's 'Legion'
Paul Bettany, if nothing else, is usually better than the material he's handed.
Because he's not a major star, he usually has to play supporting roles, like in A Knight's Tale,
which he completely stole, and The Da Vinci Code, in which he was scary. If he gets the chance for
a leading role, it's usually small and quiet.

Legion could change that. Bettany joins Dennis Quaid and several others as humanity's last chance
against a growing and seemingly unstoppable apocalypse. A lot of that going on these days. In fact,
another apocalyptic flick, The Book of Eli, opens the previous week, so who knows if audiences will
want to look so bleakly into the future on back-to-back weekends.
A new Red Band trailer (that means intended for adults) has been unveiled for Legion, and to make
it really stand out, it's over five minutes long. And why not? The only place you're going to see Red
Bands is online, so why do they have to keep it as short as a theatrical cut? So check it out; they've
given you plenty to grab onto.
Could do well if it grabs audiences early, but as I said, on the heels of a Denzel movie dealing with similar stuff, that's going to be tougher than the trailer might make it look. But if you're into it, Legion opens January 22nd.

Looks pretty cool... I'm more impressed with this than the Book of Eli trailer which looked like a Zack Snyder rip-off. Will have to see all of both to make the final call obviously.
uh yeah way better looking then the book of Eli
Why are these movies being dumped in January? One of these two pictures ends up on Christmas Day, I bet.
way better than book of eli, are you people crazy? this movie looks like complete garbage. I cant believe I actually sat through the whole 5 mins worth. After the beginning when the guy stretched out and ran at the screen, I shoulda known how awful the rest would be. And then the grandma dropping an Eff bomb and biting the guys neck, wow.....terribly cheesy.
this just looks like blasphemous crap with a horrible story line and by the looks of it, reaaaaaally bad special effects.
Blasphemy doesn't bother me... and I don't think anyone is saying that the film will be better but that the trailer looks better. Obviously we don't know until we see all of both but Book of Eli's trailer is a cheap snyder ripoff... it could be good but looks hackneyed in style to me. This looks at least looks fun and not self-serious and style over substance.
LEGION looks awesome! I can't wait to see this movie. This is they guys version of Twlight!
