Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 12:47PM Seth MacFarlane on Stewie Griffin's Sexuality
It's one of the worst-kept secrets in show business: Stewie Griffin is gay. Seth MacFarlane hasn't ever made it official on Family Guy, but in a new Playboy interview, he admits that there have been times when he and the writers have planned to have Stewie come out of the closet.

"We had an episode that went all the way to the script phase in which Stewie does come out," MacFarlane says. "It had to do with the harassment he took from other kids at school. He ends up going back in time to prevent a passage in Leviticus from being written: 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is abomination.'"
So will we ever see the day when Stewie is outed as the first gay infant on TV? Probably not.

"(W)e decided it's better to keep it vague, which makes more sense because he's a one-year-old. Ultimately Stewie will either be gay or be a very unhappy repressed heterosexual. It also explains why he's so hell-bent on killing Lois and taking over the world. He has a lot of aggression, which comes from confusion and uncertainty about his orientation."Family Guy returns on September 27th, with or without fully embracing a potential role model for gay abies everywhere.

I think I once read an interview with SF once that they wrote Stewies lines as if he were a 60 year old queen. I kind of thought this was well established
