Radcliffe on 'The Hobbit': "Thanks But No Thanks"

You don't have to be a brain surgeon to know that Bilbo Baggins is going to
one of the more coveted roles to come along in several years. Actually, brain surgeons are
probably too busy to think about it, so maybe that's not the best example. But if The
Hobbit series in any way mirrors Lord of the Rings, then this is bound to be enormous.

About a month ago, there was an online poll about who should play Bilbo, and three main candidates were James McAvoy, David Tennant from Doctor Who, and Daniel Radcliffe. Tennant says he's never been contacted and he's too old.
Now Harry Potter says there's no part in Middle Earth for him, either. "I'd have to say,
'Thanks but no thanks,' not that anyone has asked me," Radcliffe admitted to The Los Angeles Times. "Honestly, I don't think
they would want me anyway, it's just too close [to Harry Potter]. Whatever I do next, I don't
think there will be any wizards in it!"
However, Radcliffe does annoint someone already rumored for the part as the perfect Bilo Baggins. "James McAvoy is fantastic. I think he should play it," offered the boy wizard. "I've done the fantasy-film thing. Actually, so has he, with the Chronicles of Narnia, of course."
"But I've done it for longer. He can take over. I'm done. I don't think anybody involved in that would want me to, either."
Seriously, is there another strong candidate we're missing? McAvoy hasn't said he's even interested in the role, so far as I know. It was one of those internet rumors that kind of picked up steam without anybody refuting it. If del Toro and Jackson don't go with McAvoy, I think most people would be very surprised at this point.
