Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:42AM Seven Clips from Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds'
On Friday, the long-awaited Inglourious Basterds will be released, and of late, I think it's lost some momentum. Part of that is the success of District 9, and part of it, I think, is that Basterds has had about a 12-month publicity campaign dating from the moment Brad Pitt signed on.

Maybe it'll pick back up in the next couple of days; these things have a way of changing course very quickly. Then again, maybe it's just me. Is it? Do you have the same sense of anticipation about Basterds that you did four or five months ago? The critics have been mostly kind, but not overwhelmingly so. But if Transformers and G.I. Joe showed us anything, it's that sometimes critics and audiences speak entirely different languages.
To fully indoctrinate you into the Quentin Tarantino's alternate WWII, here are a bunch of new clips from Inglourious Basterds, courtesy of Trailer Addict:
We'll have a review early Friday morning, and we'll want your feedback, too, if you happen to catch Basterds this weekend.

No, I don't. And I'm not so sure people (as in the moviegoing majority) would want to go see a movie with Bastards in its title, nevermind the spelling. The element of surprise is completely lost in course of the promo campaign and all that's left is the grey sky and the awkward title. But I sure hope I'm wrong on all of this.
