Two New Posters for Shane Acker's '9'

Ever since I saw the short film Shane Acker made a few years ago, I've wanted to see the feature-length version of 9. At first, I don't think the movie made much of an imprint on audiences. And then trailers came out and it's suddenly become one of the movies I'm asked about most consistently.

It's a great year for Focus Features and its animation wing; earlier this year, Focus gave us Coraline, and 9 promises to do just as well. I think one of the two might be in the running for the Best Animated Oscar, if all goes well.

We've got some new posters for 9, courtesy of Cinema Blend. I also got this really cool collectible book in the mail this week; I'll try to snap some shots for you in the next few days. So, clearly, Focus is ramping up its efforts and the timing is right. Adults haven't really had an animated movie to think about since Up.

The ragdoll apocalypse will be in theaters on 9.9.09.
