Here's the brand new poster for the second season of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, featuring the always sexy Eliza Dushku:

The show is truly lucky to be around for another year. Remember, the premiere was pretty much disastrous, and it took a couple months for audiences to find the show on Friday nights on Fox. Its lead-in, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles did get dumped, but thanks to stronger-than-average DVR viewing, Fox is giving Dollhouse another chance.
A lot of these cult shows on Fox never make it past two or three years, and people always blame the network, but that's not really a fair accusation. Shows like Arrested Development and Serenity would never get a sniff from the other broadcast networks (cable might be a different story, but even then, the seasons are much shorter), and they're usually more expensive to produce than similar shows. Fox does have a luxury with American Idol that allows the network a little more flexibility with some of these shows, especially the sci-fi stuff, but if Sarah Connor premieres after the Super Bowl and a year later puts up less than four million viewers a week in prime time, how long can Fox be expected to keep throwing money at it? They're not mainstream shows, so they don't attract mainstream audiences.
As for Dollhouse, I do think it's probably on a short leash this year. It has to get off to a fairly quick start or Fox probably won't hesitate to pull the trigger. That start, quick or not, is slated for September 25th.

I hate to agree but it's true if it does not find an Audience in a hurry it wont last.
.....though fox is to blame for killing Firefly, aired 12 episodes, out of order without the pilot and moving it to 2 different time slots make a show hard to follow.
Yes, true in that case. But there have been more effort made on most of those short-lived shows than, say, whatever that Christian Slater spy show was on NBC last year.
"My own worst enemy" was the Christian Slater show, that I had forgotten I had even watched until you mentioned it.
They did give it all the support they could, and they have mostly done the same for Dollhouse even though some of the starter episodes were a bit rocky. Its just not as good as some of Joss's other work, though it did get better the longer it ran.
I concede that yes they have given them all the support they can, but I had to back my Firefly, tragedy for both the show and Movie to not have been money making hits.
