What an absurd idea for a movie, which might be enough to make it great. Journalist Jon
Ronson stumbled onto a secret military training program that was preparing soldiers for a bold new world.
Instead of armaments, these soldiers would use their minds to fight wars of the future. Or that was the plan.

Ronson's book, The Men Who Stare At Goats, was picked up by George Clooney, who is producing and starring
in the film. Clooney's producing partner, Grant Heslov, makes his directorial debut here, and it looks like a
Clooney flick, which means it also looks like a Soderbergh flick. Not that that's a bad thing.
Actually, the trailer, which also features Ewan McGregor as the fictionalized Ronson, Kevin Spacey, and Jeff Bridges as the guy who runs the psychic soldiers program, is rather amusing. Take a look:
The Men Who Stare at Goats gets a run in Toronto and then hits U.S. theaters in November.

I loved the book, but with George Clooney - and his frequent co-star, Pretentiousness - I might have to pass on this one.
