Monday, August 3, 2009 at 9:06AM Comic Con Trailer for 'Solomon Kane' Now Online
Though it's not a pristine version, the trailer for Solomon Kane that was shown to screaming fans at Comic Con has found its way online. I must confess I don't know very much about the character, which is another creation of Conan and Red Sonja mastermind Robert E. Howard, but he's described on Wikipedia as "a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms," which could be cool.

Howard ran original stories with Solomon Kane in Weird Tales 100,000 years ago, but it was revived by Marvel Comics back in the 1970s and enjoyed a run into the 80s. Spin-offs have followed, which is part of the reason Dark Horse felt there was enough of an audience to pursue a feature film.
British actor James Purefoy (Rome) stars as Kane and Max von Sydow will play his father in the film, which has a few European release dates but nothing in the U.S. yet. About as close as it's coming for the time being is the Toronto Film Festival, which I believe will mark the movie's debut.
Here's the Comic Con trailer. Again, it's just some guy with a camera, but it gives you a pretty good idea of what's going on. We'll replace it with the real McCoy as soon as it surfaces.

Dude, your advertising is getting really intrusive.
agreed... not a fan of the new ads.
What new ads? I guess I haven't seen what you guys are talking about.
There is a full-sceen ad that pops up everytime you click on a post or a new page. You have to click to get rid of it. It is rather annoying.
