Friday kicked off the weekend with some pretty big news: The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise might have found a new director and Futurama found its old, familiar voices heading into a second life on Comedy Central.

After that, it was a few interesting developments that I wouldn't exactly call "headlines," at least not until it was announced that Steven Spielberg would remake a 60-year-old movie. But as always, we don't just recap the weekend with our own stories, and there were a few nuggets to be found elsewhere. So take a look, won't you?
