Man, I hope this thing follows the trend and they present it in 5-D! Nu Image/Millennium Films has made it official, and we're getting a fifth Rambo movie. Of course, Sylvester Stallone has been vocal about wanting (at least) one more story for John Rambo ever since the fourth movie, simply called Rambo, was released in 2008, but now the money's in place.

According to Variety, the film "revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the US-Mexico border." Oh, wow, he's going to fight this time? Well that ought to add a new dynamic.
You might be asking why we need a fifth movie in the series and the best answer I can find is money. I'm almost positive the trilogy from the 1980s was enormously successful, even with the third one, and the most recent entry did quite well overseas, even though it was sluggish here in the states, where it did worse than most people expected.
But with Stallone's Expendables on the way next spring - and the early indications are that plenty of people are very interested in it - getting the ball rolling on Rambo Cinco now could be the smartest way to keep the momentum going.
Production is set to begin in the spring with Stallone performing triple duty as the writer-director-star.
